Our Story
Zinepe began operations in 2008 when three furniture designers and a manufacturing engineer identified a gap in the London commercial furniture market. Businesses needed office desks that combined durability with ergonomic design, yet most suppliers offered either budget options with short lifespans or premium pieces with impractical lead times.
We established our first workshop in East London with four employees and a straightforward goal: produce office desks using solid materials and precise joinery techniques. Our initial client base consisted of twelve small businesses in Shoreditch and Camden. Within eighteen months, we expanded to a 3,000 square metre facility and employed twenty-three craftspeople.
Today, Zinepe operates from a modern production facility with sixty-seven staff members. We manufacture between 400 and 600 office desks monthly, serving clients across Greater London and the South East. Our product range includes height-adjustable desks, executive workstations, and modular desk systems.
Manufacturing Approach
Our production process combines CNC machining with traditional joinery methods. Each desk frame undergoes powder coating in RAL colours, providing scratch resistance and longevity. Work surfaces are constructed from 25mm thick laminated boards or solid oak, depending on specification.
We maintain an in-house quality control department that inspects every desk at three production stages: post-cutting, post-assembly, and pre-dispatch. This system has reduced our defect rate to below 0.8% over the past four years. All desks carry a five-year structural warranty covering frame integrity and surface durability.
Our supply chain focuses on European timber suppliers certified under FSC standards. Metal components come from UK-based fabricators in Birmingham and Sheffield. This approach keeps lead times between three and four weeks for standard orders, with rush production available for urgent requirements.

We prioritize measurable outcomes over abstract promises. Our desks must withstand daily use in busy offices for at least ten years. Height adjustment mechanisms are tested for 50,000 cycles before approval. Cable management systems accommodate modern office technology without requiring modifications.
Material Selection
We source 18mm steel tubing for frames and grade-A laminate for surfaces. Each material choice is documented with supplier certifications and performance data.
Production Standards
Every desk follows identical assembly procedures. Our team completes regular training on welding techniques, finishing applications, and safety protocols.
Client Communication
Project managers provide weekly updates during production. Technical drawings are available within 48 hours of specification approval.
Environmental Responsibility
Our facility recycles 94% of production waste. Offcuts are processed into smaller components or sent to biomass energy plants.
